How to write for us – Guest Blogging at kiwimana

We often get emails from people about Guest Blogging at kiwimana, this article has some guidelines to get you started.

We would prefer guest bloggers to commit to doing a few posts that bring real value to our audience. We are not interested in people writing one post just for a back link to their website.

We like to build relationships with our writers and in turn help then raise their online profiles or blogs.

Most of our readers/Listeners (We have a podcast as well) are beekeepers and Gardeners. So articles related to that niche would be great.

We are very happy to publish articles and content that relates to what we are doing at kiwimana. We are a beekeeping and Gardening website. Check out our “About Us” page and blog to find out about us before getting in touch.

If you are not sure about your post idea, then get in touch and we can discuss it with you.

Guest blogging is a great way to share your thoughts and ideas with our audience. You could write a post about something you have learnt or maybe a technique you want to share with our readers.

Getting Started

You will need to setup a WordPress contributor account on our site, so you can log in and edit the article yourself. This ensures that the article looks the way you want it to look. You will be credited as being the writer of your post.

Then please Email Gary your logon name, and we will setup your account as a Guest Writer.

Once your account is approved login here HERE and fill out the bio section of your profile with your details; this will appear on the bottom of your posts.

Also be sure to fill out your email and other social media links, these will appear at the bottom of your posts so people can get in touch with you or your business.

Our site also supports Gravatar for our contributor photos, so please ensure you have a photo of yourself on your Gravater profile. You can find Gravatar at

Your Post must be Exclusive Content

All accepted contributors must agree to provide original content, with exclusive rights granted to kiwimana. Please don't post your article on other websites or your own blog *.

Creating your first Post

Example: Featured Image
Logon HERE, Select Posts / Add New

Enter your Title and content

On the Right Hand Side you will see a “Requirements Checklist”, these Requirements will need to be fulfilled before you can submit your post.

Featured Image – An square image that is at least 800 x 800 that represents your post.

Excerpt – Provide an Excerpt or introduction paragraph for your article in the Excerpt field, this is the text that appears on the summary page and on the search results page in Google etc. Summarise your article to help readers know what the article is about.

Categories – The Catalog of the post

Tags – Please add list of keywords for your article to the Tags Section of your post; this makes it easier for our readers to find your article correctly.

Other things before we publish

We need to create images for Social Media

We need the following images and dimensions:-

  • Facebook – 1200 x 627
  • Twitter – 1024 x 512
  • Pinterest – 735 x 1102

We can create these for you if you email Gary the full sized images from your post.

We use these images to help readers promote your post, we also promote your article to our Social Media followers over the next couple of months.

Getting Published

Once you are happy with your article, click on “Submit for Review” and we will review and scheduled your post. If you have any issues we will email you.

Further Guidelines (Please Read)

    Here are some guidelines in publishing articles on Kiwimana:-

  • Think about the keywords and the title of the post, be sure it something that would attract people to your content. Have these keywords in your extract and in the first paragraph of your article.
  • Feel free to link back to your site, but don't include blatant advertiser copy in your post. The article needs to bring value and be helpful to our readers.
  • For Headers please the (H1) – (H4) Heading html tags tags.
  • Please only upload and use photos or media that you have rights or permission to use. Please credit sources for any images you use. Use the caption field on the image or include citations at the bottom of your post.
  • Upload any images to our site, this improves the page load speed and your google ranking for the article. Be sure to optimize the images for the web using tools like
