theage – Fight the mite’s might

A good article from theage in Australia about the impending arrival of Varroa Mites, also discusses the Asian Honey bee which sounds terrible.

ITS Latin name is Varroa destructor and it is every bit as terrifying as it sounds. This tiny mite, no more than two millimetres long, has the potential to bring down not only a honey-bee colony but the multibillion-dollar industry that underpins Australia's agricultural sector.
